Endless Possibilities
Party Favors
As a THANK YOU to our party guests, we all give them an extra gift to leave with. Let’s make sure we put as much time, effort, care, & love into this gift as we did the rest of the event to say “Thank you for my gift, thank you for spending the day with me, but also thank you for being special in my life”
Holidays
The days of holidays being our only source for sweets are long gone. Let's show our love with chotchkes for Christmas stocking stuffers, Easter Egg hunts, Valentine & Halloween treats.
Treasure Boxes
As a former educator, my preschool, middle school, & highschool students loved earning treats! I never wanted them to feel disappointed so I’d do my best to find chotchkes that were interesting, helpful, or special. Every gift has a purpose, with treasure boxes they get to choose that purpose, let’s help them feel fulfilled.

Our Vision

About The Founder
I’m Christina Valentine, the founder of Chotchke Shop. As a mother of three & former preschool, middleschool, & highschool educator I’ve attended more than my fair share of parties & events. As a passionate person who cares deeply for the people in my life, I like to put a special twist on everything I do to show my love in every day interactions.
Holidays

Part of finding value in common items was taking common items from home to make fun labs & demonstrations in my science class. I got to hear children & teens get excited to earn gifts, then get disappointed when their efforts were met with items they found “less than worthy of their efforts” their desire for their efforts being appreciated on a personal level taught me to encourage intrinsic value to their work, it taught me to find phase changers & rewards that were more than simple trinkets, and it to shop with my heart first & my budget 2nd. This approach made prizes more scarce, which helped build excitement. This approach was also met with requested donations from parents and even former students through the form of gift cards for me to use for my current students. My students began donating award tickets to each other to help others get what they wanted, and said it wasn't because they didn't want prizes, it was because the intrinsic value of helping them attain their goal made their body & soul feel good. On separate occasions students told me donating their tickets to help others was the reward for them.
This care goes into the education I provide, the parties I throw, the gifts I give, & the food I make. As an educator, I was Montessori-trained, studied child psychology, child development, & a certified educator in public & private schools. I was an au pair, nanny, and therapeutic-coach for children for over 20 years. What I found helped me the most with classroom management in the inner city schools of Los Angeles was making my students feel seen, and helping them to find value in all they do.
